When is the last time you had a physical? I do this every year right about now and I keep it at the same time so I don’t forget in hopes it will be a habit by the time I’m 80. This is a fantastic idea to do when you’re starting out with any weight management/exercise program that is different than what you’ve been doing before. I was thrilled today because my weight was exactly the same number as it was last year which means I’ve maintained now for a year and a half which is a first. I have the habits of health I learned in Take Shape for Life to thank for this!
While at your physical, take an active part in your lab sheet by making sure when your doc checks those boxes, she checks the Vit D level and the inflammation level. Sometimes they’ll do D, but hardly ever inflammation unless you ask. This is important because inflammation in your system can lead to health issues down the road. The Take Shape for Life products are all anti-inflammatory by nature, so if you’re doing 5/1, you’re golden. My doc has been very happy with the results he has seen with the program. Whatever you are doing, monitoring these levels will signal whether or not you need to make adjustments.
Hot tip from my adventures today: if you go into a lab to get your blood drawn after 12 hours of fasting (I hate that part) and you hear a lady in the back yelling, “Oh Holy Moses, you’re tearing me up in there” as the phlebotomist hovers over her shaking and squinting, GO TO ANOTHER LAB.
